Nights of entertainment

What do Daniel Radcliffe and Brad Pitt have in common? They will both be in the Union week.

OK. I lied. They physically won’t be here, but their presence will.

On Tuesday night you can see Daniel Radcliffe like you have never seen him before. On Tuesday, (April 7), if you want to go out and do something, Gigglepants Improv is having an event. They will host “Gigglepants Mocks Harry Potter 3!”The style will be similar to Alamo Drafthouse’s Master Pancake Theatre. The actors in Gigglepants will make jokes during the entire movie.

Located on the UT campus, the event will take place in the Texas Union Theatre on the corner of 24th and Guadalupe. The show will be from 8:00 p.m.-10:30 p.m.

This event is free with a UT identification card, and each person with an ID card is allowed one guest.

Then, during the next two days (Wednesday and Thursday) get your Brad Pitt fix with an old classic and his newest one.

The Union is showing “Fight Club” at 10:00 p.m on Wednesday night, and “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” with two showings on Thursday night, 6:00 p.m and 9:00 p.m. Both of these events are free with UT ID.

  1. ut really offers quality free movie screenings. Sadly, i’ve missed them all.

  2. UT has movie screenings??? Where are they in the Union?

    • Michele Pierini

They are in a back theater toward the Battle Oaks side. It’s pretty cool, sometimes they show movies that haven’t come out yet.

  3. Like Michele said, they are in the Union Theatre. You can enter from Battle Oaks side (24th and the Drag) or you can walk through the Union from West Mall side, either way, it’s a great way to spend the night.

  4. I’ve always meant to check this out, but I haven’t gotten around to it. Does anyone know if you have to get there early or is there usually enough room for people who show up right on time?

  5. Olivia, it depends on what movie you want to see. when I went for Grindhouse last year, we started waiting in line a little after 8 for the 9 show. It’s one of those stop by early, see if there is a crowd, wait a round a little then get in line. It’s not too bad though.
